Stock Brokers

Very few financial professionals use the title stock broker anymore to describe their role because they spend very little time recommending and trading securities. In more recent times, brokers use titles that include: financial consultant, investment representative, sales representative, registered representative, and bank representative. They use these titles because their primary role is selling investment products, for example mutual funds, that invest in the securities markets. The traditional stock broker has become relatively extinct since the deregulation of commission rates and the rise of the discount broker.
