Paladin was established in 2003 when John Wiley & Sons published a book, Who's Watching Your Money? The 17 Paladin Principles for Selecting a Financial Advisor, that was authored by a co-founder. In 2004, Paladin launched its first website, www.PaladinRegistry.com, which provided online educational content about financial advisors. Later in the year Paladin added Registry services that matched investors to pre-screened, five star rated advisors and provided documentation for the professionals' credentials, ethics, business practices, and financial services.
In 2008, Paladin added an online Directory, www.FindFinancialAdvisors.com, that enabled investors to conduct their own searches. Like the Registry, investors also had the option of using Paladin's Assisted Search™ service. The assistance is provided by experienced Paladin search consultants who match investors to financial planners and financial advisors in their communities.
In the first half of 2009, Paladin launched four investor education websites. One is a blog site, www.InvestorWatchdog.com, that deals with ethical issues that impact the financial services industry. This site educates investors about schemes, scams, and deceptive sales practices that undermine the achievement of their financial goals.
A second site, www.PaladinRegistry.org, educates investors about financial advisors - how to select quality professionals and how to avoid the risks and consequences of bad financial advice. Two additional sites, www.theInvestment.org and www.theFinancial.org, educate investors about a variety of investment topics. All of the articles on these sites are authored by five star rated financial professionals who are profiled in the Paladin Registry.
